We have had quite the heat wave here in East Tennessee. Temperatures were over 100 several days, breaking multiple records. Needless to say, it was hot! Too hot to go outside. So we brought the fun indoors.
We used a lawn mower box to make a "car," added some cushioning to make it comfy, popped some popcorn and turned on a movie. Bring on the fun!
Then to continue the cool down, we made homemade ice cream in a ziploc bag. We simply combined one cup of milk, 3 tablespoons of sugar and 1.5 tsp of vanilla in a sandwich bag. Then we put ice and large granules of salt in a gallon bag and shook it up for 5-7 minutes. Of course E was tired of shaking after about 30 seconds, but mommy and daddy finished it up, and then he ate it. He said it was delicious!
What is your favorite way to beat the heat?
Cultivating love, faith and friendships is what life is all about for this growing family. Established in June 2005 with our marriage and expanded in March 2009 with the birth of our first child, our little family hopes to make a difference by ministering together to be the hands and feet of Christ in this world as we stated in our vows. We hope that your visits to this little window into our world will nurture the soil of your soul.

We're Back
After a long absence from blog world, I am happy to say that we have returned with some very exciting news. Our family of 3 has become a family of 4!
And I now have the blogger app on my phone, so hopefully we can be much more regular posting updates!
