Whether it is cruising the lake in a boat, wading in streams, or splashing around in the swimming pool, our little guy LOVES the water! He just can't seem to get enough of it.
Some of our friends from First Baptist Oak Ridge invited us to bring E down to their home for dinner and a ride on the Pontoon boat. We headed over on a beautiful Monday evening. E was a bit hesitant when we boarded the boat, but within minutes of launching into the lake, he was having a blast. We enjoyed a Buddy's BBQ picnic while we cruised around the lake. He spent most of the ride standing at the front gate letting the wind blow on his face and through his hair. We also enjoyed views of bald eagles nesting along the water, and we even got to see one eagle in flight. It was a beautiful sight. Here are some pictures from our evening.
We took E on his first picnic in the Great Smokey Mountains over Memorial Day weekend. We weren't sure how he would react when he saw the mountain streams and felt the cold water touch his little toes. Much to our surprise and delight, he didn't skip a beat. His feet hit the water, and he didn't stop. He walked right in and immediately started playing and splashing. It was so cute. Here is a video of his first moments in the water.
After some play time in the water, it was time to get out and dry off. Look how cute our little water bug looked all cuddled up in his towel.
After he got all dried off, it was time for dinner. Hot dogs and cheese were on the menu. Those are two of his favorites. Then we followed it up with some watermelon for dessert. It was an hit! He definitely takes after his mother.
I am sure there will be lots more posts about water fun throughout the summer. As hot as it has been lately, I think that is the only way we will survive!
